【這個怪怪的英文是誰「給」你的呢？GIVE】
最近讚美學生的手錶，然後她說：
[X] It's my boyfriend gave me.
問題在哪呢？

很明顯是嘗試用中文的次序說英文。
其實，我敢說我猜得出它的「原文」：
「是我男朋友給我的。」
問題是，英文根本沒有這個句型！
說東西是誰給你的，我們還是用比較正常的 (主詞-動詞-受詞) 句型，就是：
√ My boyfriend gave it to me.
就這麼簡單！

其實，send & mail (都是「寄」的意思)，還有 lend (借出) 會有一樣的問題。
[X] It's my mom sent me.
[√] My mom sent it to me.
(是我媽媽寄給我的。)
[X] It's actually not my scooter. It's my sister lent me.
[√] It's actually not my scooter. My sister lent it to me.
(其實這不是我的機車，是姐姐借我的。)
